The center offers night watch personnel and a Summer staff that is dedicated to helping our group stay safe and comfortable through the week. Garden City Chapel and Retreat Center is a Christian Center dedicated to ministry of young people. Leadership and Safety: We will be taking 25 adult leaders and college people to help advise for the week. We will go on day trips and evening trips. Spending Money: This depends on individual needs and desires.
Arrival Time should be by 11pm at New Beginnings. June 3rd: We will load up and depart from Garden City by 7am to return home. Thursday Evening we will have our Consecration Service. Starting at 6pm we will go on our Evening Trip (Putt Putt, Broadway on the Beach Shopping, etc). The Garden City Chapel and Retreat Center offers a large outdoor pool, Beach Volleyball, Basketball and a Recreation Center with Snack Bar.

We have chartered buses from New Image Travel out of Evansville, IN for travel to and from Garden City.īreakfast will be served at 8:30am followed by an Alone with God Devotional Time, a Group Worship Service and Small Group Time.įrom 1pm to 5pm there is free time to stay on Campus, go to the Beach, or go on the day trip. We will drive through the night to the Retreat Center and arrive by 2pm EST on May 29th. May 28th: We will meet on Saturday to load up at New Beginnings at 10pm. We have beach days, volleyball tournaments, basketball, mini-golf, fishing, devotions, worship, small groups, and go to a place called Broadway at the Beach. Our Vision is that every college student we reach will believe and live out the Gospel of Jesus.Beachweek is a week-long retreat to Myrtle Beach, SC for Middle School and High School students (going into 6th grade - 12 grade). The Refuge Retreat exists to unify a generation of college students to be disciple-making followers of Jesus. We want to spend our time and energy creating community with the people around us, teaching the ways of Jesus, and providing relaxation and fun with a retreat center. The past 10 years have been spent studying and learning what it means to be a true follower of Jesus. We want to be a place that targets the most difficult generation to reach for the Gospel. This reality is the driving force behind The Refuge Retreat. They need leaders in their life that will empower them and trust them with our future. These students need for people to believe in them. College students are known to be the most neglected generation in the majority of churches in America. Not only are students losing interest in church, but they are not interested in following Jesus altogether.
The truth is, 18-25 year olds are moving further away from God. Barna Research Group conducted a study that revealed 65% of college students stop attending church after they graduate high school.
